Whole Wheat Monkey Bread

Whole Wheat Monkey Bread

Linda’s daughter’s were raised with “Monkey Bread” or “Pull Apart Sticky Buns”. We decided to make up our own unique recipe I guess you could say. I wanted to make “Whole Wheat Monkey Bread” for breakfast one morning. (I homeschool my kids). Wondermill Wheat Grinder

I made our Whole Wheat Bread recipe and set aside enough dough to make 18-20 small (1-1/2 inch) balls to freeze. Yes, we wanted to see if we could make our own frozen balls of dough. I placed them on a greased small cookie sheet, covered and placed in the freezer. I made these one night and in the morning they were ready to put in the oven to bake.

Sprinkle the following on the Frozen Whole Wheat Rolls:

  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1-1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 small 3.5 ounce cook and serve (not instant) butterscotch pudding (vanilla works too)
  • 1/3 cup melted butter-drizzle over all the above ingredients

Cover with a clean towel, let rise overnight on the kitchen counter. EASY!

The next morning, remove the cloth, pre-heat oven to 350 degrees and bake 20-25 minutes!

Leave in the pan about 10 minutes and then invert on to a large plate. Enjoy these gooey and cinnamony treats!

About Food Storage Moms

We’re Linda and Kendra. Two moms wanting to get people excited about food storage and emergency preparedness. Those two phrases can tend to be overwhelming to many people. Our main goal is to help people without having them feel overwhelmed and to help them see that it can actually be fun! We encourage people to not go out and spend thousands of dollars right away, but to work at it a day at a time. We want to teach people how to use these items in their everyday life and to incorporate their own food storage into their everyday meals. You can read more from us at foodstoragemoms.com

Grain Mill Wagon Challenge Experience:
We had a great time participateing in the Grain Mill Wagon Challenge. It was fun to challenge ourselves and grind all the different kinds of grains we could grind in the mill. We did rice, popcorn, oats and are excited to try more. We love this mill especially the capacity that it can grind and also how quiet it is compared to other mills. It was fun to read all the other great recipes the other participant entered. Thanks for letting us particpate in this challenge!
