Homemade Whole Wheat Pizza Crust

Ingredients
  • 2½ to 3 cups, whole wheat flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 package or 2¼ teaspoons, regular or quick active dry yeast
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup very warm water
Instructions
  1. Mix 1 cup of flour with your sugar, salt and yeast in a large bowl. Add in your olive oil and warm water. Mix for about 3 minutes, scraping the sides as needed. Add in enough of the remaining flour until the dough is soft and no longer sticking to the sides of the bowl. Place the dough on a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes or until the dough is springy and smooth. Place in an oiled dish and loosely cover with plastic wrap or a lid. Let rise for about 30 minutes in a warm area.
  2. Once dough has risen, removed from container and divide into half (or more if you want more personal-sized pizzas). Roll out on a lightly floured surface until size and thickness desired is reached. Lightly spray your pan with Pam and place your crust on the pan.
  3. Pre-bake your crust at 425 degrees for 7 minutes or so. Remove from oven, add your sauce and toppings and bake for 8-10 minutes.
