Tiramisu Bundt Cake

My husband recently celebrated his 34th birthday. I usually always make a cake and wanted to try something different this year! We both love coffee and kahlua so when I happened upon this cake, it sounded perfect!

Tiramisu Bundt Cake-shared from Baking Bites

3 cups flour(soft wheat, pastry setting)
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
3/4 cup butter, room temperature
1 1/2 cups sugar
3 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 cups milk
1/4 cup expresso or strong coffee
1/4 cup kahlua

Preheat oven to 325. Grease and flour bundt pan.

Whisk together flour, salt, baking soda, and baking powder. Set aside. Cream together butter and sugar. Add in eggs one at a time. Add in vanilla. Add in 1/3 flour mixture, alternating with 1/3 milk until all ingredients are combined. Stirring in between, just until everything is together.

Remove 1 cup of batter and place in a bowl, stir in coffee. Remove and 1 cup additional batter and place into another bowl, stir in kahlua.

Place half of the plain batter into the bottom of the bundt pan. Dollop the kahlua layer over the batter, followed by the expresso layer.  Carefully pour the rest of the batter in on top. Bake for 55-60 mins or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Allow to completely cool before frosting.

Frosting:
1/4 cup butter, room temperature
4 oz mascarpone cheese, room temperature
1/4 cup kahlua
2 cups powdered sugar

Beat together mascarpone cheese, butter, and sugar. Add in kahlua and beat on medium high speed until smooth and fluffy. Spread frosting on top, cut and enjoy!

**We thought the cake was a bit heavy…and I did not have the pretty swirl that the original recipe had! But it was very flavorful…we actually liked it better the next day!! I also think it had to much kahlua in the frosting, so I will cut back on that next time I make it! My frosting certainly doesn’t have the same consistency as the original post either!
