Fudge Brownies in a Jar

We have made brownies in a jar before. The kids loved it! Although you may want to control portions, this is a a cool way to serve up your yummy treats. I didn’t have ice cream or even fresh cream to make whipped cream but they would be delicious with either added or served as we ate them, just warm out of the oven!

This are so delicious with fresh flour right from my Wonder Mill.  I have fallen in love with oat flour but any flour would work well.  I also use whole wheat.  This recipe makes 10 pint size jar servings.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 Cup of Melted Butter
  • 1/2 Cup of Melted Coconut Oil
  • 1 Cup of Sugar
  • 1 Cup of Brown Sugar or Sucanat
  • 2 Teaspoons of Vanilla
  • 4 Eggs
  • 2/3 Cups of Cocoa Powder
  • 1 Cup of Oat Flour
  • 1/2 Teaspoon of Baking Powder
  • 1/2 Teaspoon of Salt

Directions:

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease (I use coconut oil) the sides and bottoms of your jars you will be using for baking.

Cream together the butter and sugars until light and creamy. Beat in the vanilla and eggs. Add cocoa, flour, baking powder and salt and mix well. Spoon carefully into your jars. I filled each jar with about a 1/3 of a cup of batter. Wipe rims of jars clean if needed.

Bake for 30-35 minutes until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.

Dust with powdered sugar, top with whipped cream or serve with ice cream. They are delicious and a fun way to serve your treats.
