Whole Wheat Chocolate Chip Cookies
 
 
A whole wheat version of everyone's favorite cookie!

Serves: 2 dozen
Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted, organic butter
  • 1 cup organic brown sugar
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg, at room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 2¼ cups whole wheat pastry flour
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1¾ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Line 3 baking sheets with parchment paper and set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, beat butter until creamy.
  4. Add the brown sugar, granulated sugar, and egg, beat until light and fluffy
  5. Add the vanilla extract, flour, salt, and baking soda.  Beat just until well combined.
  6. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  7. Using a cookie scoop {mine is #30} place dough on prepared baking sheet, about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes, until golden brown.
  9. Remove from oven and allow to rest on baking sheet for 5 minutes.
  10. Move cookies to a wire cooling rack and cool.
  11. Store in a sealed container for up to 3 days.
